A dispute over cat food led to charges for two Coatsworth neighbours.
Chatham-Kent police say the two men were arguing as one family’s dog was eating the other family’s cat food outside. The verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.
Officers say a main entrance front door window was smashed and one of the men sustained injuries as a result of being assaulted with a homemade sword.
The injured man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he was treated and released.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
A 43-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats and mischief under $5000.
Both men have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
