Icy roads and dropped identification led to the arrest of two men after an alleged break and enter in east Windsor.

Windsor police were called to a house in the 2600 block of Norman Road around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

A 28-year-old man was at home sleeping when he woke to sounds coming from the kitchen. Police say he found a man in his living room attempting to take the gaming console.

According to police, the suspect punched the resident and fled, dropping a bag with his identification on the way out. He got into a green station wagon parked out front with another person in the driver’s seat.

When the driver accelerated, the station wagon spun in place on the icy road and a witness had time to copy the plate information.

Police found the vehicle parked in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue just after 7:00 p.m. Officers waited for the suspects to return and arrested them. Other stolen items were also discovered in the car.

Cody Carrington, 24, of Windsor is charged with two counts of break and enter, three counts of possession of stolen property and one count of robbery.

David Surtees, 41, of Windsor is charged with two counts of break and enter and three counts of possession of stolen property.
