Windsor police are searching for a 21-year-old suspect after a man was stabbed on Wyandotte Street Thursday night.

Police say it happened around 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Officers arrived and found group of several people standing in the area along with a 20-year-old male who had suffered a stab wound to his right shoulder.

Investigation revealed the victim approached the male suspect and an argument ensued which quickly escalated into a fight.

Police say the men are familiar with each other.

At some point during the fight, the suspect allegedly stabbed the male victim in the shoulder.  At the end of the altercation the victim told the suspect to leave the area.

The victim apparently didn't even realize he was stabbed until after the fight was over.

Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him.  The victim was treated at the hospital and released.

Police are in the process of obtaining a warrant for a 21-year-old man from Windsor for assault with a weapon and two counts of breach of probation.
