Three hockey players with ties to Windsor Essex are headed to "the show."

Amherstburg native and Windsor Spitfires goalie, Michael Dipietro, was selected 64th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in Saturday's NHL Draft in Chicago.

DiPietro calls the selection a “dream come true.”

Tecumseh native Jack Studnicka of the Oshawa Generals was selected with the 53rd pick by the Boston Bruins.

On Friday, Windsor Spitfire forward Gabe Vilardi was selected in the 1st round, 11th overall by the Los Angeles Kings.
