Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) is being recognized for its efforts to promote the region through a united tourism industry.
The Ontario Tourism Marketing Corporation has named the TWEPI as the winner of the Tourism Marketing Partnership Award.
The major art exhibition “Possible Futures: What is to be Done? The 2014 Windsor-Essex Triennial of Contemporary Art” was made possible by a partnership between TWEPI, the Art Gallery of Windsor, and the Windsor Endowment for the Arts.
“The arts sector is well suited for acting as a catalyst in providing stimulation, interactivity and experiential tourism,” says Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island in a release.
“This unique collaboration extended the exhibition’s scope and reach, increased artist participation, and raised awareness of the exceptional talent of our arts community,” said Orr.
