The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society says Justice the dog has undergone a third surgery for his injuries.
Justice, a six-year-old dog, was found abandoned with his mouth, neck and paws bound by electrical tape.
The humane society says the third surgery was done to remove damaged tissue in and around his mouth and jaw.
Officials add that he will likely need at least one more surgery to repair that area.
Despite his challenges, he reportedly remains active and playful, and is eating well.
