A two-year-old girl who went missing in a cornfield Tuesday night has been found safe.

CTV London reporter Bryan Bicknell says the young girl was found by an area land-owner, east of Centralia, Ont., shortly after 10:30 a.m.

An OPP helicopter searched from above, as officers and K-9 units search the grounds earlier Wednesday morning at a rural property on Whalen Line.

Through their investigation provincial police say they learned a group of children were playing in a cornfield surrounding the property around 8 p.m. However, when the children returned one of them was unaccounted for. Family members searched the property, but were unable to locate the girl.

A rescue helicopter from Canadian Forces Base Trenton was also used in the search.

Whalen Line between Elimville Line and McTaggart Line has been closed by police.
