A relatively new company based out of Aurora has set up shop in Blenheim and are looking to hire immediately.
Innovative Hydrogen Solutions manufactures and assembles 14 inch hydrogen fuel cubes designed to inject hydrogen into the fuel tanks of long haul cargo drivers.
Ron Bogart, of IHS, says hundreds will be hired over the course of the next few years.
"We're looking between two and three hundred jobs over the next 5 years," says Bogart.
Currently the fuel cubes are manufactured in Aurora, but face limited capacity. Company officials have been eyeing the region since 2008.
Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope says the new facility is a result of persistent communication within the industry, adding any new jobs to the municipality are positive.
"To us in Chatham-Kent, it's about diversity," says Hope.
IHS says any transport truck driver who spends between eight to $10,000 per month on fuel, should save between 15 and 20 per cent on their fuel bill."
It costs just over $13,000 to install but officials say in the long haul the efficiency saves money.
