University and college education just got more affordable for students that come from low income families.

Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, tuition will be free for students that come from families who make an income of less than $50,000.

Students from middle class families will also see a break on school fees.  More than 50 per cent of students from families that make less than $83,000 will receive non-repayable grants in excess of average tuition.

The Liberals are replacing the old system of loans and grants with a new program called “The New Ontario Student Grant.”

Under the new grant program a student is eligible for $15,000 in total assistance.
