Essex County officials are celebrating the opening of the first pedestrian crossover.
This will be the first one in Essex County and it is located on County Road 11 (Walker Road) between Highway 3 and South Talbot Road in order to allow pedestrians to cross the road.
County Warden Tom Bain, Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara and Essex County OPP Sgt. Rick Tonial are at the site Tuesday morning to celebrate the opening.
There will be a demonstration of the PXO and a public education/outreach demonstration onsite by the OPP for passing motorists.
