Residents of a downtown housing complex awoke to fire alarms as a fire raged in one of the building's second floor units.
Firefighters arrived at Chateau Maison at 415 University Ave East around 8 a.m. to see smoke and flames billowing out of a window.
Damage is estimated at $30,000.
The resident whose apartment was ablaze was not home at the time of the incident. No other injuries are reported.
Residents say the fire was quickly extinguished and the cause is still under investigation.
