The Windsor-Essex Health Unit is extending the cold weather alert for the region until Wednesday afternoon.
Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed issued an alert on Monday, but added the extension Tuesday, based on the Environment Canada forecast.
The forecaster says temperatures are expected to dip to -17°C overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
