Windsor police are looking for the driver of a backhoe who allegedly hit a parked car and drove away.

Officers were called to the 900 block of Marion Avenue at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a hit and run.

Witnesses told police they saw a construction backhoe collide with a parked 2006 Chevrolet van, which caused approximately $8000 in damages. The backhoe allegedly fled the scene.

Police found the backhoe in the 1100 block of Wyandotte Street East. Officers say evidence from the collision was located in the front bucket of the machine. The area was checked for a suspect driver with negative results.
