Over the past few days, Chatham-Kent police have seized 1,160 marijuana plants from locations across the municipality.

Several police branches were involved and used information from the public and aerial surveillance to conduct the marijuana eradication.

Officials say corn fields throughout the municipality were checked and 1,160 mature plants worth approximately $1.1 million were seized for destruction.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers say they continue to welcome any information from the public regarding illegal grow sites.

Anonymous callers can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS and may be eligible for a cash reward.
