The Ontario government is spending about $8 million on two schools in Windsor and Essex County.
The money will go towards a new French elementary school with the Conseil scolaire Viamonde and an addition to Belle River Public School with the Greater Essex County District School Board.
Ronald Marion, chair of the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, says the he’s very grateful for the initiative.
“This new school cements our efforts to offer a quality French language education to rights-holders here, in their community,” says Marion.
These new projects are expected to provide students with improved learning spaces and help support the continued roll out of full-day kindergarten.
“Modernizing learning spaces will ensure that our students are being provided with the best opportunities to succeed,” says Windsor West MPP Teresa Piruzza. “Our investments in Windsor-Essex will provide better school buildings and create a good learning environment, where students can focus on their learning.”
