Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
The weather authority issued the warning Monday afternoon, as temperatures mixed with the humidex near 40 C.
This extreme heat could prove dangerous to older adults, infants, children and those with chronic illness should remain cool and stay hydrated.
The heat warning will remain in effect until Tuesday night, when a cold front is expected to return temperatures to the seasonal average.
