A Leamington man and woman are facing several charges after a domestic dispute led to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation.
According to Essex County OPP, officers were dispatched to a Leamington residence on Wednesday, just after 2 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, a man who was allegedly assaulting four other people was arrested. OPP say a search inside the residence led to the discovery of a marijuana grow-op. A total of 74 marijuana plants, 53 grams of dried marijuana, and drug paraphernalia was found.
A 46-year-old Leamington man is charged with:
- Assault.
- Resisting a peace officer.
- Possession of a scheduled one substance.
- Mischief under $5,000.
- Cruelty to animals.
- Possession of a schedule two substance for the purpose of trafficking,
- Produce a schedule two substance.
A 31-year-old Leamington woman is charged with possession of scheduled two substance for the purpose of trafficking and producing a schedule two substance.
The two will appear before a court at a future date.
