Charges have been laid against three people, following a 12-hour standoff that started on Tuesday afternoon.
Matthew Maskert, 29, and Sarah Bianchi, 32, have been identified by Windsor police as the two suspects involved in a lengthy standoff at an apartment building on Tecumseh Road East, near Gladstone Avenue.
The two were arrested on Wednesday morning, around 3 a.m. after Maskert allegedly barricaded himself inside the apartment with Bianchi. Police say a search of the apartment led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun.
Bianchi is charged with:
- Break and enter
- Steal firearm
- Possession of stolen property
Maskert is charged with:
- Break and enter
- Steal firearm
- Possession of stolen property
- Possession of a firearm
Officers originally responded to the area on a theft call on Tuesday around 3 p.m. Raymond Raymond, 53, along with another man were arrested prior to the standoff.
Raymond is charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm. The other man arrested along with Raymond was released from police custody without any charges.
Additional firearm charges are expected to be laid against all of the accused.
