The city is reminding drivers the eastbound lanes and adjacent on and off ramps on the E.C. Row Expressway between Jefferson Boulevard and Banwell Road will be closed to all traffic for asphalt resurfacing.
Traffic detours will be posted nightly during the temporary closure starting from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Crews reduced that section of roadway to a single lane a week ago.
Work is expected to wrap up by Oct. 11.
However, the process starts all over again for the westbound lanes sometime in the new year.
City engineers after the 20 years of heavy traffic the pavement is beginning to show its age and needs the major work.
