A look at entertainment in Windsor and Essex County for July 7-10.

Fork and Cork

Gin Blossoms is one of the headliners at the Fork and Cork Festival on the riverfront this weekend. They take the stage on Saturday night. Sloan and Pop Evil are performing on Friday.  Several local wineries from Essex County and Windsor’s finest food from around the world will also be on hand.  Festival goers can get a few tips from celebrity chefs offering live cooking demos. It’s a family friendly event, but certain hours are 19+ only. Weekend passes are on sale online and at the gate on a first-come-first-served basis.

Amherstburg Ribfest

There’s more than just ribs at the Amherstburg Ribfest. Canadian rock band Destroyer is set to perform on Saturday night along with a variety of other bands throughout the weekend. The mouth-watering racks of ribs will be on the playing field at the Centennial Park on Victoria Street South. Organizers say bring your lawn chair, but not your pets. Parking and admission are FREE but donations are greatly appreciated. All proceeds support Rotary projects.

Essex Fun Fest

A Celebration of the Summer Olympics is the theme for this weekend’s Essex Fun Fest. Visitors can enjoy a youth talent show, carnival rides, a parade, arts and crafts, fireworks and of course live entertainment. Tribute bands for Kiss, The Eagles and Foreigner are all booked to take the main stage.  Admission is free on Thursday and $3 a person the rest of the weekend. The festival fairgrounds are on Fairview Avenue West in Essex.
