A provincial tribunal is scheduled to hear concerns from Chatham-Kent well water users, worried a new wind farm will impact water quality.

The group “Water Wells First” claims the vibrations from existing wind turbines causes seismic activity, and stir up sediments in wells in the Dover area.

Some residents say the water appears turbid when it comes out of the taps.

The group wants to appear before an Environmental Review Tribunal, to present evidence showing the same thing will happen near the North Kent One wind project, which is now under construction.

Most details for the proceedings have been settled, but a final decision on the level of involvement will be made August 29th.

The hearing is scheduled for October 5th.
