A 36-year-old man and a 38-year-old female are facing drug charges after police seized $3130 in cocaine in Amherstburg.

Members of the Windsor police drug unit and provincial anti-violence team obtained a search warrant at a house on Concession 2 Road North in Amherstburg on Tuesday. 

At about 5:10 p.m., a vehicle associated to the residence was stopped by Windsor police on Malden Road in LaSalle. 

The driver, a 36-year-old man was placed under arrest for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.  Officers searched the driver and seized 1.8 grams of cocaine.

At 5:20 p.m., officers made entry into the Amherstburg residence. A 38-year-old female at the home was arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. 

Officers searched the residence and seized 29.5 grams of cocaine and two functioning scales.  The value of seized cocaine is estimated at $3130.00

Both suspects were released on a promise to appear.
