The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a worker was hurt at the construction site of Windsor’s new family aquatic centre.

The industrial accident took place on Monday.

Ministry spokesperson Matt Blajer says a worker was pinned between a truck and wall.

“A worker employed by Franklin Terrazzo Company was assisting the operator of a flat-bed state truck,” says Blajer. “The operator of the truck was reversing the truck into a receiving door. The worker was struck and pinned against a structural column.”

The worker was sent to hospital and had surgery. He was listed in fair condition.

Regular construction activity continued on Tuesday. No orders have been issued at this time.
