Lake Huron, Erie and Superior are almost entirely covered in ice. Superior is at 95 per cent, Huron is at 95.7 per cent and Erie is at 96.7 per cent.

Michigan sits at 62 per cent and Ontario at 56.7 per cent ice coverage.

The overall record for Great Lakes ice coverage set in 1979 at 94.7 per cent.

This is the first time since 1978 and 1979 that the Great Lakes have surpassed 80 per cent ice coverage for two consecutive winters.
