Windsor's Mayor and the Warden of Essex County plan to meet next week in hopes of finalizing this year's budget for the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says the two sides couldn't settle finances after the county rejected the city's proposal to hold the line on spending for two years.

The CAO’s from both the City and County have been working on a resolution, which is expected to be presented to the Mayor and Warden next Wednesday July 26.

Time is becoming urgent, as the Waste Authority has reached the halfway point in its fiscal year without a financial plan.

But Dilkens is confident an agreement will be reached.

"I don't see many stumbling blocks here to reach that compromise" says Dilkens.
