A Windsor woman has been charged after allegedly crashing into a parked car on the city’s west end.

Windsor police officers were called to the 900 block of Partington Avenue on Tuesday, around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a collision involving an impaired driver.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered front end damage to a 2009 white Ford Fusion and rear end damage to a 2011 blue Mazda 3. Witnesses claim a woman sitting on a nearby curb – the driver of the Fusion – crashed into the rear of the parked Mazda.

After speaking with the woman, officers say they could detect a strong odour of alcohol on her breath. The 34-year-old was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the legal blood alcohol level.

Damage to both cars is estimated at $20,000 – no injuries are reported.
