Windsor police are investigating after a man attempted to steal the purse of a 70-year-old woman waiting at a bus stop on Ouellette Avenue.
Investigators say a suspect armed with a knife robbed the woman in the area of Ouellette and Wyandotte Street on Monday, striking her in the face in the process.
A witness then reportedly pushed the suspect into a wall, forcing him to drop the purse.
The woman was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after suffering a cut to her nose.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, about 250 pounds with a chubby face and short, blonde-ish hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and grey cargo shorts.
