Windsor police officers will be patrolling in and around school zones as kids head back from summer vacation.

Officers want to remind motorists to be aware of school buses, which will be back on our roadways when the new school year begins next week.

Police will be looking for violations related to stopping for school buses when approaching or meeting, when bus flashers and stop signs are activated.

Officers will also be on the lookout for distracted drivers who are talking or texting on hand-held devices. Police recommend drivers either turn their phones off or place them in their trunks while driving to eliminate the temptation to return or send a text.
