TORONTO -- Police are reporting numerous collisions as drivers deal with slippery, snowy roads across much of southern Ontario today.

Toronto and surrounding areas are under a snowfall warning, with 15 to 20 centimetres of snow expected as a system moves west across the province, dumping snow across central Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe.

Waterloo, Hamilton, Niagara, Brantford and Woodstock are expected to get as much as 10 centimetres of snow with up to 15 centimetres likely over the Niagara peninsula.

Motorists are being warned to drive slowly and be patient.

The snow should be tapering off by this evening over most of central and southwestern Ontario
