Windsor police are investigating the scene of a fire near Olde Walkerville.
Windsor fire crews were called to May Court, a business at 1122 Wyandotte St. E., around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. When firefighters arrived they were met by flames bursting out of the front windows.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., officials reported that the blaze was out. The resale store sustained significant damage, as did an adjacent part of the building. Total damage estimate is $200,000.
“The adjacent structure is an extension of the store, it's also affected. The barber shop on the other side is not affected by the fire,” says John Lee, fire prevention officer for the Windsor Fire and Rescue Service.
Lee says no injuries are reported.
Windsor police arson investigators are working with Windsor fire and the Ontario Fire Marshal to determine the cause of the fire.
