A 22-year-old inmate is facing arson-related charges after a cell fire at the South West Detention Centre.
Officers were called to the jail around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police say investigation revealed that a 22-year-old man set a small fire within his cell. Windsor firefighters attended and the fire was extinguished quickly.
The man suffered some effects from smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital and then brought back to the facility.
The fire caused about $500 in damage.
The inmate is facing charges of arson disregard for human life and arson damage to property.
