PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak thumped his favourite themes of the election campaign today at a "town hall" meeting in Peterborough.
Hudak said only a Tory government would cut taxes and balance the budget.
Apart from a lone heckler, the crowd was largely appreciative of the message.
Hudak repeated his mantra that tax cuts create jobs.
He's promising to make Ontario among the lowest corporate tax rate jurisdictions in North America, and to cut personal taxes 10 per cent after balancing the budget in 2016.
The local Liberal candidate said afterwards that Hudak's promise to slash 100,000 public-sector jobs if elected June 12 would be devastating to communities.
