The world’s top automakers showing what they've got at the North American International Auto Show.

More than 50 products are slated to be unveiled and over 500 vehicles will be on display at Detroit's newly renovated Cobo Center Jan. 14-27.

The event kicked off with the car and truck of the year announcements Monday morning. The Ram 1500 was named North American Truck/Utility of the Year and the Cadillac ATS won North American Car of the Year.

A number of luxury brands are returning to the show floor. Some movie classics, like James Bond's Aston Martin, will be featured.

"This show is a reflection of the positive changes that are occurring in our industry," said Jim Seavitt, chairman, 2013 NAIAS, in a release. "Automakers from around the world continue to place NAIAS at the top of their global auto show strategies, and have committed to more than 50 vehicle debuts with the majority being worldwide unveilings."

There’s an official NAIAS app for smart phone users to view news and information. It features a virtual show floor map and breaking automotive news.

Over 6,000 journalists from around the globe are expected to attend the event.

The public show opens Jan. 19 and runs until Jan. 27. Tickets are $12 US for adults and $6 US for seniors and kids.
