Only one beach is closed in Windsor-Essex this week, according to the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
Colchester Beach is closed for swimming because of very high levels of bacteria. The E. coli count is reported at 1000.
Meanwhile, Holiday Beach, Mettawas Beach and West Belle River Beach are not recommended for swimming due to bacteria count.
The six other beaches in our region are considered safe.
