The date has been set for a supervised vote of the latest contract offer to end the strike by Essex County library workers.

CUPE 2974 spokesperson Lori Wightman says the vote, supervised by the Ministry of Labour, will take place on Tuesday, Dec 13 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Essex Arena.

The Essex County library board tabled what it called its “final offer” after talks with a provincial mediator lasted only eight hours on Nov. 25.

Wightman says the board did fix the issue of part-timers not qualifying for sick leave, but she tells CTV News she is “fully confident that the members will reject the offer.”

Today is day 165 in the strike by 58 full and part time library workers.
