Anticipation has been building ever since it was announced at Comic-Con 2013 that a Batman-Superman movie was in the works.

On Sunday, Warner Brothers held a casting call for extras at the Somerset Inn in Troy Michigan.

Thousands lined the street for the chance to be in the film.

"We have so much work to offer to people here in the Detroit area," Maryellen Aviano, casting coordinator.

"It's gonna be long hot days outside, in muggy Detroit but they all seem up for it," says Aviano.

Windsorite Jamie Rothera attended the casting call.

It's his first time auditioning for a film.

"It would be really cool to be on the set of a Batman-Superman movie," says Rothera.

Many agree it's all about bringing business back to Detroit.

"Growing up in Detroit and basically watching it crumble in front of your eyes, it was sad," says Seann Romero.

"I'm very excited. It's the upbeat Detroit needs."

The film will be released sometime in 2016.
