Leamington town officials say councillor Rick Atkin has passed away suddenly of natural causes.
“On behalf of council and our municipal family, I send my deepest condolences to Rick's family and friends at this very difficult time,” said Mayor John Paterson in a news release. “Rick's passion and determination to work for our community will be dearly missed.”
Atkin was currently serving his third term on Leamington council.
The town says information on funeral arrangements will be made available in the coming days.
