Recent flooding dominated the talk during this evening's Windsor Ward 7 meeting.

Other issues were also raised during the 'open mic' portion.

Flooding is still fresh on the minds of ward seven residents, but Wednesday night was an opportunity to discuss whatever they felt should be brought to attention.

Parking, rats, tree maintenance, marijuana grow ops and Banwell Road safety concerns were all at the forefront.

Mayor Drew Dilkens was again on hand along with other city councillors and staff from various departments.

However, the conversation usually made its way back to flooding woes.

Councillor Irek Kusmierczyk offered household advice to lessen future flooding, should heavy rain fall occur.

Ward 7 borders the east side of the city with Tecumseh, the hardest hit during last month's record breaking rain.

Kusmierczyk reminded residents about the city's down spout disconnection program while voicing his desire to send out questionnaires, much like the Town of Tecumseh, to impacted residents to see what improvements can be made.

“Until we do our homework and until we do these questionnaires to find out how people are connected to their storm and sewer and water sewer systems and until we do a proper environmental assessment, we're going to be guessing in the dark and this is going to happen again every time we have a major rainfall event," says Kusmierczyk.
