A Quebec truck driver has been charged after a tractor trailer rollover on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent OPP were called to the crash on Highway 401 near Drake Road on Friday at 6 a.m.

Investigation indicated that an eastbound tractor trailer had rolled onto its side and came to rest in the ditch, partially blocking the eastbound passing lane.

Emergency crews attended and Highway 401 eastbound is temporarily closed in order to accommodate emergency and the Ministry of Environment cleanup crews.

The two male occupants of the transport truck were transported to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

The 32-year-old male driver of Quebec has been charged with careless driving.

Highway 401 eastbound will be closed for several hours to allow for the safe removal of the vehicle.
