Windsor police have charged a suspect who allegedly robbed a homeowner after demanding cash.

Officers were called to the 400 block of McEwan Ave. just before 8 a.m. Monday for a break, enter and robbery investigation.

Police say a suspect reportedly entered a residence and demanded cash from the homeowner for an outstanding debt.

When the homeowner told the man the person he was looking for didn't live there, the suspect mentioned a firearm and said he was taking items as collateral.

The suspect allgedly placed a game console and some games and a laptop computer in shopping bags and left the residence.

Police searched the area and found the suspect next to a residence in the 300 block of McEwan Ave., at which point the man dropped his bags and fled on foot, but was arrested shortly afterward.

A 30-year-old man is now facing several charges in relation to the break and enter and robbery, but the investigation continues.

The property was recovered and returned to the owner.
