Windsor police are looking for the owner of a barbecue they believe was stolen by an alleged intoxicated man.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Parent Avenue on May 10 at 11:40 p.m., for a report of a man going door-to-door trying to sell a barbecue.

Two separate residences called in to report a suspicious male.

Officers say when they found the man a short time later, he was heavily intoxicated and his clothes were dirty and soaked.

The 28-year-old man from Windsor was placed under arrest for being intoxicated in a public place.

Police say he was in possession of a driver's licence in someone else's name and three sets of sunglasses.

When officers visited the owner of the driver's licence, he said his vehicle was broken into and he was missing his ID and sunglasses.

The suspect advised that he located the barbecue abandoned on the side of the road.  Officers were unable to locate an owner and it is believed that it may be stolen.  If anyone is missing a barbecue they are asked to call police.

The 28-year-old man was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
