A recently closed elementary school in Tecumseh will soon open again.
The Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board approved new French immersion programs.
Trustees voted to establish French immersion programs at the former St. Gregory Catholic Elementary School and St. Joseph Catholic Elementary in River Canard.
The programs will start in the fall of this year.
Both schools will offer French immersion for kindergarten and Grade 1, with new grades being added each subsequent year.
Depending on the level of interest, Grade 2 might also be available in September.
The English program at St. Joseph will not change.
