Many Windsor-Essex bakeries are bustling this morning for Paczki Day.
It’s because of Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday, which is a Christian tradition where people eat richer foods before giving them up for lent.
At Blak’s Bakery, walk-ins are being turned away until noon due to a shortage. The popular Windsor bakery usually sells around 30,000 paczki on Fat Tuesday.
Several locations across Windsor and Essex County are pumping out the pastries, including 7-Eleven locations, Freds Farm Fresh and some delis.
