Windsor police have arrested a 67-year-old man and issued warrants for three other suspects after a violent assault at a Mill Street apartment.

On Oct. 19 at 6 a.m., police were called to an apartment located in the 600 block of Mill Street for an assault.

Officers say a 26-year-old male was found in an apartment severely beaten, hands bounded and suffering from multiple stab wounds and cuts to his body.

Detectives began investigating by speaking to the 67-year-old witness who called the police and lives in the apartment.

Through the investigation officers say that the witness played a role in the assault and he was subsequently placed under arrest.

Investigators believe the victim was targeted in the offence and that it wasn't a random act.

There were also number of other suspects identified and believed to be involved in the alleged kidnapping, forcible confinement and assault of the victim.

Officers also found that the victim may have been lured to the rear parking lot of Tim Horton's located in the 2800 block of Howard Avenue on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

There were several people involved in an altercation, both males and females.

Detectives believe the victim was forced into the vehicle by the suspects.  He was later found in an apartment on the 600 block of Mill Street with serious injuries and he remains in hospital in critical condition.

Police say the victim was also targeted in a stabbing incident reported on Sept. 29. In the earlier incident, he was found in the area of Glengarry Avenue and Wyandotte Street East at approximately 2:30 a.m., suffering from multiple stab wounds, but police say he wasn't cooperative with that investigation.

Detectives from the Major Crime Branch continue to investigate the incidents and anyone with information is asked to call.

Walter Smith, 67, from Windsor is charged with forcible confinement and aggravated assault.

A warrant have been issued for three additional suspects:

Dustin Schuh, 26, is wanted for kidnapping, forcible confinement and aggravated assault.

Through the investigation, police say information on a separate incident led to additional charges for using an imitation firearm in the commission of an indictable offence and forcible confinement.

Daniel Shaw, 38, from Windsor is wanted for kidnapping, forcible confinement, and aggravated assault.

Melissa Luyten, 26, from Windsor is wanted for kidnapping, forcible confinement, and aggravated assault.
