The westbound on-ramp of the Highway 401 at Provincial Road in Tecumseh has reopened after a tractor trailer rollover Tuesday afternoon.

Essex County OPP say the driver struck the guard rail and rolled over into an adjoining ditch. It took two hours for emergency crews to extricate the driver from the cab of the truck.

He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Windsor Regional Hospital for treatment.

The trailer of the truck was loaded with metal parts and required clean-up until the early hours of the night. It has now been cleared.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
