Dr. John Strasser, the long-time head of St. Clair College is headed for retirement.
At the college’s board meeting on June 3, Strasser announced his intention to retire as president at the end of August 2015.
According to the college, Strasser is the longest serving president and CEO of any post-secondary institution in Windsor history.
Over the past 14 years, Strasser helped usher in the first post-secondary campus in downtown Windsor – revamping the Chrysler Theatre, and forming the MediaPlex. Under Strasser, the college also acquired properties at the Chatham Capitol Theatre and Woodland Hills Golf Course.
The college also reports a 50 per cent increase to enrollment.
Strasser’s successor will be named before the end of May 2015.
