Windsor and Essex County residents have two more spots to get alcohol.
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario has opened a new location Wednesday, beside the Tecumseh Mall at 7640 Tecumseh Road East.
Bob Peter, LCBO president and CEO and other company executives opened bottles of Ontario sparkling wine and Ontario craft beer and raised a toast to the new store.
The 12,000 square-foot building offers more than 1,900 products. There is a large Ontario wine section with more than 500 wines, a Vintages section with more than 400 premium wines and spirits and a large walk-in beer cold room.
The new Kingsville store at 390 Main Street East replaces a century-old building with on-street parking only. The official opening will take place Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
The 5,000 square-foot building has almost 2,800 square feet of display space - more than double the store it replaces. It features 750 wines, spirits, beers, ready-to-drink cocktails, coolers and beverage gift packs.
