Fire confirmed fatal at 920 Ouellette Ave
Windsor fire officials confirm there has been another fatal fire in the city.
The occupant from the fire unit who was admitted to the hospital at 920 Ouellette Ave. has died, according to a post by Windsor Fire on social media. The post says the exact cause of death unknown at this time.
Around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters responded to a fire on the 16th floor of 920 Ouellette.
“Fire crews entered the unit to extinguish the fire, they found one male occupant. The occupant was removed from the unit and EMS transported that occupant to the hospital,” John Smith told CTV News on Sunday.
There was also a fatal fire on Monday. A 71-year-old woman died after an apartment fire on the city’s west side Monday morning.
At about 7 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of Sandwich Street for a fire on the ground floor.
The woman, who was found inside, was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
