Leamington Fire Service officials say two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a fire on Friday.

Crews responded to a home on Oak Street East for a house fire around 1 p.m. and quickly brought the blaze under control.

Damage is estimated at $150,000 and the cause is reported to be careless cooking.

Oak Street East was closed to traffic for several hours as crews dealt with the fire.
