Windsor police have charged a 20-year-old man after a downtown stabbing on Monday.
Officers were sent to a residence in the 1000 block of Pelissier Street for an altercation that resulted in a stabbing.
When police arrived, both parties had calmed down and were standing by the front entrance.
A 28-year-old male victim sustained a puncture wound in the stomach. He was allegedly stabbed by the suspect, who was seated nearby.
Officers subsequently arrested the 20-year-old suspect.
After speaking to a number of residents, police concluded that the two men were involved in a heated argument and at some point the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the stomach.
The victim was transported to hospital and his injury was not life threatening.
The 20-year-old Windsor man is charged with assault with a weapon.
